Durability.

  • For added strength, key interior support elements such as stiles and T-posts are reinforced by thick aluminum. This adds a tremendous amount of stability to the shutter panels.

STACKBACK DESIGN
Bi-pass track systems may be designed to completely uncover the window opening by extending the top frame and tracks a distance equal to one-half the total panel widths.

In the illustration below, a four-panel bi-pass track system is extended by a distance equal to the width of two panels.
Both the front and rear panels may be slid away from the opening to completely uncover it.

One or both of the side frames may be eliminated if the top frame abuts one or both walls. This provides a very clean look to the installation.

Palm Beach: Standard Panel Configurations

CAFÉ STYLE MOUNTS
Café style shutters can be inside or outside mounted. For the best result, the frame should run the full height of the window (4CAF).

Price the shutter using your panel width and height and add a 10% surcharge. The surcharge is for the extra frame being used to cover the entire opening.

You may also order a three-sided frame (3CAF), with the top of the frame stiles flush with the top of the shutter panels. There is no surcharge for this type of installation.

DOUBLE HUNG SHUTTERS
A double hung shutter consists of two sets of panels within one opening. The top and bottom panels operate independently of each other. There is a 25% surcharge with this option. Note that there will be a 3/16" light gap between the top and bottom set of panels. A vertical or horizontal T-post may be used to stabilize panels and block out the light coming through the panel gap.

Palm Beach: Standard Panel Configurations:

PATIO DOOR MOUNTS
Patio doors and other entrances are easily fitted by ordering a three-sided decorative frame. Measure the width of the opening as normal. Measure the height of the opening from the top of the outside casing to the floor.

Most standard patio and entrance doors will require four bi-folding panels with a divider rail. With the divider rail, the top and bottom sections of each panel operate independently. Divider rails are mandatory for patio doors and should be placed to meet customers' needs, within minimum and maximum divider rail guidelines.

A clearance of 3/8" is left on the bottom for the panels to clear any possible obstructions. If a greater clearance is required, please specify it at the time of ordering.

For openings of this size, the frame is sent knocked down, and can be reassembled in minutes using our unique corner-key system. Once the frame is in place, mounting the panels follows the same instructions as regular shutter openings.

Shutters on patio doors allow for full ventilation of adjoining rooms without the disadvantage of direct sunlight or gusting winds.

Patio doors may also be fitted with bi-fold and bi-pass track systems. See the following pages for possible configurations, as well as size limitations.

Note: The variable panel to floor clearance is 3/8" to 1/2".
