Tradition makes them beautiful.

Palm Beach™ custom shutters combine the best of both worlds: attractive good looks and low maintenance. You can enjoy the elegant appearance of shutters in any interior space -- without worrying about warping, fading, chipping or excessive wear.

Palm Beach™ shutters come in both 2 3/8" and 3 3/8" louver sizes, in the most popular colors, and in two unique styles. Lantana™ is our patented, gear-driven model for easy fingertip operation, while Palmetto™ offers the classic look of a tilt bar system. Both styles feature sleek lines, smooth operation and our exclusive equal distant louver spacing.

A closer look at Hunter Douglas Palm Beach™ Shutters .

Palm Beach™ custom shutters are available in a variety of configurations for the perfect look. Three basic systems, framed or unframed, are available:

  • Standard hinged panel system
        •  Bi-fold track system
        •  Bi-pass track system

  • Optional configurations within these systems include double-hung and cafe windows, bay and bow windows, and French and patio doors.

Easy care and maintenance.

  • Hunter Douglas Palm Beach™ custom shutters are made from our uniquely formulated poly-satin compounds that will not warp, crack, chip or shrink. Poly-satin shutters are the perfect solution for installation in bathrooms, kitchens, pool and sauna areas, and sunrooms because they are UV-resistant and unaffected by temperature and humidity extremes.

  • In addition, the color is impregnated throughout all poly-satin components. The finish resists scratches and dents, and never requires sanding, staining or painting.
Plus, Palm Beach™ shutters are easy to keep looking good. Just wipe them off with ordinary soap and water. The surface finish of our poly-satin compounds is actually enhanced by regular cleaning

Durability.

  • For added strength, key interior support elements such as stiles and T-posts are reinforced by thick aluminum. This adds a tremendous amount of stability to the shutter panels.
  • Palm Beach™ shutters are also flame retardant.

Frame selections.

Palm Beach™ shutters can adapt to practically any window situation or decorating theme. Frame designs vary from traditional to contemporary.

An outside mount frame designed to be installed directly onto the wall surrounding the window or on top of existing 2 1/2" wood molding around the window. Unique mounting strip method allows for single person installation. Filler strips and cover strips hide screw ports and gaps.

The 1/2" build-out acts as a projection when extra louver clearance is required. A maximum of two 1/2" build-outs may be added.

Contemporary
Frame Features

As an inside mount, the frame is installed directly into the window opening. May be mounted at any depth within the opening; flush with existing molding if at least 2 1/8" of depth; or protruding forward by as much as 1 1/4". As an outside mount, the frame can be mounted anywhere on the outside corner of the window.

Flex Options
Unique optional "flex" seals window and out-of-square areas on inside mounts. Rubber flex functions like caulking and may be mounted on the front or rear of the frame. Deco flex provides a more decorative look and may be adapted to a variety of mounting situations, including sill mounts and bull nose windows.

French Doors
For french door applications, the frame utilizes ports on the front and may be mounted around existing french door molding. The 1/2" snap-on acts as a projection shim or build-out.

LIGHT STOP/
HANGING STRIP

The light stop is ideal for blocking out light in a 2 or 3 sided frame application. It also can be used as an alternative mounting method when our regular frames can not be fitted to the window. A two-sided framing option, the hanging strip, attaches the panels with a wrap-around hinge.

French Doors
The hanging strip can also be used as a two-sided frame for french doors, attaching the panel at the top and bottom of the window with a button catch.

The face of the frame acts as a seal to cover gaps due to out-of-square windows. Rubber flex may be used on the rear of the frame to conceal gaps visible from the exterior.

For windows with protruding sills, the "sill Z-frame" is used.
