ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE Hunter Douglas Remembrance® window shades are designed with incomparable innovation and precision, making traditional roller shades a thing of the past. The entire product line has been completely redesigned, embodying that discernible difference that consumers have come to expect from Hunter Douglas products.	SIMPLE, SECURE OPERATION Shades are operated by a specially designed clutch mechanism attached to a wear-resistant, woven and beaded cord forming a continuous loop. Pulling easily on the cord causes the clutch to rotate the metal roller tube, which raises or lowers the shade and holds it securely in place in any chosen position. The metal roller tube on all shades is always covered by fabric, even when fully lowered. The bottom rod is also wrapped in fabric (not available in Cortina, Del Sol and Sheerweave styles), with most fabrics offering the option of adding a decorative hem and/or trim. Hunter Douglas Remembrance® window shades are designed to fit rectangular window openings in a vertical orientation. The maximum width and height of the shades vary with type of fabric, and depend on whether the fabric can be turned width for length, as shown in the accompanying size standards chart. The shades may be installed inside or outside the window opening, or mounted to the ceiling.

Important: Minimum mounting depth for a fully recessed installation varies with the diameter of the fabric roll when the shade is fully raised.

PLAIN HEMS With plain hems, the fabric covered bottom rod is the bottom of the shade (Fig. 6a). Except with Cortina, Del Sol, and Sheerweaves, where the bottom rod is unwrapped. With these fabrics, the ivory, gray or black bottom rod remains unwrapped. Plain hems are often the preferred way to finish the bottom of the shade when it's important to minimize light leakage on inside mounted applications. Patterned hems, particularly styles like "Broken Scallop" and "Breakers," can leave light gaps between the sill and the trim even when the shade is in the fully lowered position.	DECORATIVE HEMS In addition to plain hems, there are seven decorative hem styles offered to enhance the appearance of the bottom of the shade (Fig. 6b). These decorative styles, illustrated below, are available for all fabrics except Canterbury Lace, Cortina, Del Sol, Fiji, Kauai, New Orleans, Samoa and Sheerweaves. The hem styles extend the fabric below the bottom rod of the shade. The "Double Wave" pattern extends approximately 8" below the bottom rod. All other patterns extend about 6" below the rod. When a decorative hem is used with outside mounted shades, be sure to allow sufficient overlap of the bottom sill to prevent light gaps.

TRIM STYLES
Customers may choose from three attractive trim styles to add the finishing touch to a decorative hem. The trim - gimp, loop, or brush - is attached to the bottom edge of the hem (Fig. 7).

All three types of trims are available in 22 coordinating colors, listed on this page. Your fabricator will choose the most appropriate color to coordinate with the fabric, or your customer may request a specific color.

A durable metal roller with compact, concealed, chain-driven clutch holds the shade in place.	Shades stop and start easily and precisely, using the special continuous cord and clutch system.
The bottom rod is wrapped in fabric for a smooth, finished look and contains adjustable weight, so the shade always remains perfectly balanced.	Fabrics also add energy efficiency. Easy to maintain through light dusting or vacuuming. Very simple installation, requiring minimum mounting depth.
A fresh selection of fabric styles also makes these shades unique. From a semi-sheer woven to the softness of cotton to opaque fabrics that let you block the light. And, to add that special "decorator touch," a variety of decorative hem styles and trims add more design options. DESIGN OPTIONS Most Remembrance shade styles are available with a coordinated decorative hem, and all bottom rods are wrapped (except mesh screen fabrics and Del Sol) to prevent curling. There's also a large assortment of plain and patterned hem styles, with a choice of gimp, loop and brush trims.
